Subject teacher – Inspired Directions School

Inspire! works with thousands of young people each year in Hackney and beyond, helping them to develop the skills they need to succeed in the world of work.
Our lively and fast-paced alternative provision school (Ofsted 2018 rating ‘Good’) provides education for 13-16 year olds from Hackney, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream school or other PRU provision, and who are school-refusers. Students are taught in small classes with individually tailored curricula, and the school also works with businesses and volunteers to deliver programmes that help young people learn about and develop their motivation and skills for the world of work.

The successful candidate will provide an alternative, project-based education to help students develop socially and educationally in a compassionate, therapeutic environment.

About you:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and with a teaching qualification in Maths, English or Science, you will have experience of working in an EBD setting, or with students who have special educational needs.

  • Your excellent interpersonal skills enable you to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues alike, and you’re confident teaching young people with challenging behaviour.
