Engagement and Personalised Learning Programmes

Inspire! recognises that some young people need a bit of extra support to help them fulfill their potential. Our Engagement programmes are aimed at students who are likely to respond to an alternative approach to learning. Working in small groups, and often one-to-one, our accredited programmes include work-focused learning for pre-16 students taking vocational courses, personal development courses for those who need to acquire and build  wider skills for life and employment, and full Foundation Learning courses for young people with lower educational attainment and additional learning needs. Our work also extends to employability and independent living skills' programmes for learners with special educational needs, as well as those for whom English is a second language.

Through our Keep It Moving programme, we made a significant impact on reducing the rate of post-16 young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the borough. Over a three-year period, the number of young people who were NEET, in this age group, dropped by 50%. Our consortium approach, working with The Learning Trust, Newlon Fusion and Elevate@SkyWay successfully identified, engaged and supported the progression of 16-19 year-olds across Hackney into positive career paths.

Inspire! has a team of teaching and support staff, with significant experience of working with young people who are disengaged from learning and need a little bit of extra support. We work in schools, youth clubs, FE Colleges and on site at Inspire!
